We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Senior Survey Project Manager to lead the comprehensive management of survey projects from a fully remote environment. This position is critical to developing and maintaining client relationships and managing all financial, technical, and personnel aspects of the work across our diverse project locations. As a key leadership position, we require a professional who can effectively coordinate internal teams and field crews using digital collaboration tools throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of survey projects, including sophisticated proposal writing, virtual meeting schedules, and controlling profitability to ensure the highest quality of work.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and manage the collection of accounts receivable (a/r's) through professional remote communication.
- Direct project efforts, assign project teams, and coordinate communications within the company and to outside stakeholders using remote management platforms.
- Monitor and process financial metrics, including performing monthly pre-bill reconciliation and assisting accounting with monthly billing cycles.
- Coordinate remotely with state and local municipalities to obtain proper certifications and permits for work in their specific jurisdictions.
- Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor staff; train survey technicians in the theory of surveying and practical application of methods via remote training tools.
- Perform business development activities to generate new work and manage sub-consultants to expand our project capacity.
- Ensure all company QA/QC procedures and safety standards are followed across all distributed project sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Survey Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum.
- PLS or LSIT licensure is highly preferred; applicants are encouraged to seek licensure in multiple states to support our broad service area.
- At a minimum, 5 years of experience in Survey Project Management is preferred for this senior-level role, with a proven track record of supervising multiple survey crews.
- Must be exceptionally self-directed, self-reliant, and adapt to change with a strong understanding of the "big picture" in a remote work setting.
- Must possess superior written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, and advanced engineering technical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required for occasional travel to client sites.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and a comprehensive 7-year criminal history background check.
