Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in our Assisted living, environments. This role involves supporting patients with diverse needs, including those requiring Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and senior care. The Medical Technician will utilize their knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical procedures to ensure safe and effective treatment while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
Duties
- Perform patient assessments by monitoring vital signs and recording medical information accurately using EMR systems such as ECP.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including catheter care, medication administration, and other care tasks.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities, hospice care needs, or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by ensuring confidentiality of all medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in the management of medical equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medication routines, and safety procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment by recognizing potential safety hazards and adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care is preferred. Not needed, we will train :)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care procedures.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or in Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory/caregiver settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic or ECP is advantageous.
- Certification or training in medication administration and/ or CBRF certifications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team in various settings including acute care environments. Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
