Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Pipelayer specializing in Wet Utilities to join our dynamic construction team. Duties
- Lay and install underground pipes for water, sewer, storm drainage, and other wet utility systems following blueprints and project specifications
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and position pipes accurately
- Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise installation of piping systems
- Use pipe lasers and utility locating tools to verify correct pipe alignment and avoid underground hazards
- Perform concrete finishing and concrete forming tasks as needed for utility structures or supports
- Weld components or fittings when required to ensure secure pipe connections
- Conduct pipeline testing, pressure checks, and inspections to confirm system integrity and compliance with safety standards
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on wet utilities or underground piping projects
- Skilled in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, pipe laser alignment tools, utility locating techniques, and pipeline installation procedures
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, concrete forming/finishing, welding techniques, and safety protocols related to construction work
- Experience working in oil & gas or infrastructure projects is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and ability to work efficiently in physically demanding environments
