Pest Control Technicians will make service calls to commercial, industrial, and residential customers to inspect and apply treatments as needed.Essential DutiesBe responsible for day to day operations of a pest control routeApply pesticides to various structures while following safety procedures and label instructionsAdvise customers of potential problems and follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedureBe knowledgeable of chemicals and their application per local, state and federal EPA regulationsMaintain awareness of federal, state and local regulations regarding pest controlComplete and submit service tickets as requiredRespond in a timely manner to customer requests for telephone and in person service callsMaintain a safe driving recordMaintain compliance with all company policies and proceduresAvailable to work flexible on-call hours, including nights and weekends as required by customer needs in technician’s geographic area Skill RequirementsAbility to read and comprehend instructions and short correspondenceExcellent verbal communication skills, including capacity to effectively communicate with customersMust be able to meet deadlines and customer expectations, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions givenMaintain a valid driver’s license and safely operate a company vehicle Pass a background check and DMV search High school diploma or GED preferred, but not requiredState of Connecticut Junior Operators license preferred, but not required - willing to train! Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbsCapable of bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and climbing stairs in a multitude of environmental conditions (heat, snow, rain) throughout the work dayBe willing to safely access crawl spaces and atticsSafely operate a ladder and other pest control equipment as needed Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
