Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Truck Driver / Crane Support Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for transporting heavy equipment, crane components, and counterweight loads while assisting crane operators with the assembly, disassembly, and rigging of cranes on job sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work as part of a professional crane team.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers, including flatbed and specialized heavy haul trailers, while adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Transport cranes, crane components, counterweights, boom sections, and related equipment to and from job sites.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload oversized and overweight loads in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist crane operators with the assembly and disassembly of mobile cranes.
- Assist with rigging, including setting up slings, shackles, blocks, and other rigging equipment for lifting operations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, project managers, and crane operators regarding schedules and job site conditions.
- Assist with general yard organization, equipment inspections, and maintenance when not driving.
- Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures while working around cranes and heavy equipment.
- Represent the company professionally with customers and on job sites.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating tractor-trailers and hauling heavy equipment or oversized loads.
- Experience with heavy haul permits and load securement is preferred.
- Knowledge of crane transportation and counterweight hauling is highly desirable.
- Experience assisting with crane assembly/disassembly and rigging is preferred, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely operate manual transmission trucks.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
