Energy Auditor

Job Summary:You will be trained on all aspects of the job.Our Jobs are in Queens and Long Island and will be using your own car, gas will be reimbursed. Patriot Energy Solution is looking for a residential Energy Auditor that is responsible for conducting comprehensive home energy assessments of one-to-four family residences in accordance with BPI building science standards and the NYSERDA EmPower Program requirements. The Auditor will collect field data, perform diagnostic testing (e.g., blower door, combustion safety), analyze findings, develop a prioritized scope of work, provide recommendations to homeowners or tenants, ensure compliance with program rules, and collaborate with contractors to deliver approved measures. The role supports low‐ and moderate income households, aligning with the EmPower goal of increasing comfort, safety, durability and energy savings. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform in home energy audits on eligible one to four family residences under the EmPower program, following program procedures for application, assessment, and reporting.Use diagnostic tools (blower door, combustion analyzer, pressure gauges, etc.) to assess building envelope, heating/cooling systems, ventilation, insulation, air infiltration/leakage, ductwork, moisture/indoor air quality and combustion safetyRecord and document existing conditions of the home: attic, crawl space/basement, mechanical systems, air sealing, insulation, windows/doors, ductwork, electrical panel/service, water heating, etc.Conduct health & safety checks (combustion appliance zone, carbon monoxide, ventilation adequacy, gas leaks, other hazards) in accordance with BPI standards. Building Performance Institute, Inc. 2Building Performance Institute, Inc. 2Analyze collected data and build a detailed work scope of recommended energy efficiency improvements, prioritized by cost-effectiveness, comfort, durability, health & safety, and program eligibility.Prepare and submit audit reports and work-scope deliverables in compliance with BPI standard format and the EmPower Program Manual requirements.Educate homeowners/tenants on energy use, recommended improvements, health/safety findings, and anticipated benefits (energy savings, comfort, durability).Assist in program compliance: ensure audits and follow-up work meet EmPower eligibility and documented standards.Contribute to outreach efforts, help promote the EmPower program, support documentation and paperwork to ensure efficient program flow.Company DescriptionPatriot Energy Solutions is a leading provider of home energy upgrades, proudly serving homeowners across Long Island, New York City.
