Duties
- Assist with the preparation and cleaning of surfaces prior to seal coating application
- Support the operation of heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks under supervision
- Help with the mixing and spraying of seal coat materials according to project specifications
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times on the construction site
- Assist with traffic control and site organization to maintain a safe working environment
- Support the loading and unloading of materials using dump trucks and other heavy machinery
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in paving projects is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or front loader trucks is advantageous
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques is a plus for understanding site safety procedures
- Experience with construction safety practices and site protocols is beneficial
- Ability to operate or quickly learn how to operate Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality workmanship
