Responsibilities
- Prepare concrete surfaces through cleaning, grinding, and surface profiling to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Apply coatings using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting with conventional and airless sprayers, ensuring even coverage and quality finish.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute coating plans aligned with project specifications.
- Conduct surface testing and visual color comparisons to match specified hues and ensure consistency across applications.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely to reach work areas and perform detailed finishing work.
- Follow all safety regulations by wearing appropriate respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Assist in surface preparation tasks such as caulking, plastering, masonry repairs, and fixture installation to ensure a seamless coating process.
- Support renovation projects by performing tasks like framing, trim carpentry, stucco application, and general handyman duties as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, materials used, and safety compliance for each project phase.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on painting or coating applications in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Hands-on experience with construction surface preparation techniques including sanding, grinding, caulking, and masonry repairs.
- Knowledge of color theory for achieving precise color matches in coatings and finishes.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools (including paint sprayers), scaffolding equipment, and ladder use for elevated work.
- Understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting environments; committed to safety protocol adherence and proper use of respiratory protection.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials accurately and reading blueprints or schematics effectively.
- Additional experience in related trades such as carpentry (trim framing), plastering, welding or restoration is a plus.
