What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician/E&S & Stormwater Inspector position at Patrick County local government?
The County of Patrick is accepting applications from qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Technician/E&S & Stormwater Inspector.
This is a full-time position with benefits exceeding $17,000 annually that include vacation and sick leave, life and health insurance, and retirement. Annual salary range is $32,780 - $35,000. Hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening, weekend, holiday, and flexible/irregular work schedules may be required.
This position is divided between facilities maintenance and erosion & sediment and stormwater compliance. For three days each week, the successful candidate will perform technical building and grounds maintenance and repair work under the supervision of the Maintenance/Assistant Facilities Director. For the remaining two days, the employee will monitor permitted land-disturbing activities to ensure compliance with state laws, local ordinances, and approved erosion and sediment control and stormwater management plans under the supervision of the E&S/Stormwater/PSA Director.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Coursework, training, and/or work experience in at least one of the following is preferred: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry. Experience in civil site construction, soil conservation, surveying, or environmental inspections is a plus. General knowledge and experience in the installation and maintenance of erosion control and stormwater management best practices is also a plus. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
The successful candidate must possess (or secure within 12 months of hire date) Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Inspector Certifications as administered by DEQ training and certification programs.
