What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Custodian position at Patrick County High School?
General Description:
Perform tasks to assist in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment.
Requirements:
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and follow instructions from the head custodian and building principal.
- General knowledge of custodial operations
- Be at least 18 years of age, possess good moral character, and be of good health
Reports To: Building Principal
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide supervision and training of the custodial staff.
- Perform inventory and supply management.
- Train prospective substitute custodians.
- Assist with setup and tear down of all special events at the school.
- Maintain the interior of the school building. Sweep, mop, wax, dust, vacuum, and other general cleaning tasks in assigned area.
- Perform minor building maintenance and repairs as well we grounds upkeep (including snow removal)
- Acts as the main liaison with school administration and the Director of Maintenance.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the school building and grounds.
- Ensure cafeteria is clean.
- Maintain sanitary conditions.
- Scrub and disinfect toilet doors daily and clean drinking fountains, urinals, toilet bowls, and other fixtures daily using materials as will keep them clean and sanitary.
- Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year.
- Report any damage to school property giving, when possible, the name of the person responsible.
- To be on duty in the building when events are scheduled outside of regular school hours, if such is requested.
- To remain on the premises during school/work hours.
- To perform other duties as assigned.
