The organization partners with families, educators, and schools through one-on-one Structured Literacy Tutoring, parent information, and professional development initiatives.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role in Hickory, NC for a Structured Literacy Tutor. The tutor will provide individualized, evidence-based instruction to students with learning differences, helping them build foundational literacy skills and confidence. Key responsibilities include preparing and delivering personalized lesson plans, monitoring student progress, documenting growth, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure student success. The tutor will utilize research-based methodologies aligned with the Science of Reading.
Qualifications
- Experience tutoring with structured literacy curriculums or the Orton-Gillingham approach preferred. However, additional training will be provided.
- Skilled in supporting students with unique learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with families and educators
