About the Job
Patient First is seeking a skilled X-ray Technologist to join our team in the Glen Allen, VA area. Our organization provides a friendly and collaborative work environment that promotes a patient-first philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Obtain high-quality x-rays using correct positioning and radiation exposure levels;
- Implement safety protocols for patients, self, and staff to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure;
- Create and document x-ray CD copies accurately according to Patient First guidelines, ensuring correct labeling of images and sleeves;
- Understand and operate x-ray and processing equipment correctly;
- Utilize and comprehend the bell system effectively;
- Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping of all x-ray paperwork;
- Ensure patient safety when using wheelchairs, stools, and other equipment;
- Familiarize yourself with and utilize the Daily Log, X-Ray Listing, Copy Listing, and X-Ray Status Screen;
- Operate and understand the automated medical records system;
- Clean and maintain work areas, adhere to OSHA guidelines, and complete assigned maintenance tasks;
- Receive, move, and restock ordered supplies as needed;
- Adhere to established Patient First policies and procedures;
- Address physician and nurse requests promptly and with respect;
- Complete checklists for the x-ray area and treatment area as scheduled;
- Attend training classes and staff meetings as required;
- Be available on an as-needed basis, breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted for patient care and center operations;
- Responsible for operating, maintaining, and utilizing medical and office equipment as trained.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- High school graduate or equivalent required;
- Keyboarding experience necessary;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential;
- One year of clerical experience preferred;
- One year of clinical experience preferred;
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);
- Licensed to practice as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited Radiologic Technologist by the Virginia Board of Health Professions;
- Limited Radiologic Technologist must be licensed to practice in chest/thorax, extremities, skull/sinuses, spine, and abdomen/pelvis anatomical areas.
