We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide part-time support for an individual living with dementia in Stafford, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in dementia care and a patient, understanding approach to supporting daily living needs while promoting dignity and comfort.
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide part-time support for an individual living with dementia in Stafford, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in dementia care and a patient, understanding approach to supporting daily living needs while promoting dignity and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Monitor and respond to changes in behavior or condition
- Assist with mobility and ensure a safe environment
- Prepare light meals and assist with feeding if needed
- Provide medication reminders (non-medical)
- Engage in meaningful activities tailored to cognitive ability
- Maintain clear communication with family members regarding care updates
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care preferred
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Ability to pass a background check
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to assist with mobility and transfers if needed
- Able to stand, walk, and perform caregiving tasks for extended periods
