JOB SUMMARY:

The Operations Analyst supports financial planning and operational performance within a pharmacy services organization. This role partners closely with the COO, CFO, Operations Leadership, Finance, and the Business Systems Support (BSS) team to align operational execution with financial goals. The analyst is responsible for evaluating cost trends, managing and reconciling core inventory processes, supporting revenue and receivables workflows, and converting operational data into structured insights that improve efficiency and margin performance. In addition, this role will become a subject matter expert (SME) on the pharmacy operating system (New Leaf), utilizing and developing reporting capabilities to support operational decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • 2 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or operational finance; experience in healthcare or pharmacy services preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data interpretation.
  • Experience with inventory control systems or pharmacy operations platforms preferred; familiarity with New Leaf is a plus.
  • Understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and revenue recognition concepts.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret operational and financial metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into business recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operational, finance, and IT system teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain operational and financial reporting dashboards to support business performance analysis.
  • Analyze product cost trends, vendor pricing, dispensing volume, and labor utilization to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly operating reports and budget vs. actual variance analyses with clear, actionable insights.
  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes across operational departments.
  • Manage and reconcile pharmacy inventory balances and utilization, identifying root cause for discrepancies and ensuring accurate valuation.
  • Own the invoicing and accounts receivable process for the Bundled Medication (“Bundle”) line of service, ensuring accurate billing and timely collections.
  • Conduct margin analysis, scenario modeling, and ROI evaluations to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, track, and refine operational KPIs tied to purchasing efficiency, fulfillment, logistics, and customer contract performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the New Leaf pharmacy operating system; build and extract reports to support financial and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with the Business Systems Support (BSS) team to request, extract, validate, and analyze system data necessary for operational reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with the CFO and Finance team to ensure alignment of financial reporting, inventory controls, and operational workflows.
  • Present standard and ad hoc reporting to senior leadership, including the COO and CFO, in a clear, concise manner.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs or management direction.
