We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily living activities and promote their independence while respecting their rights and preferences.
Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals in accordance with their care plans.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
- Observe and document patient behavior and changes in condition, reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Support individuals with dementia care and other cognitive challenges, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Uphold resident rights by fostering a respectful and dignified atmosphere for all clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement effective care strategies tailored to each individual's needs.
- Assist in hospice care when necessary, providing comfort and support to both clients and their families.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Experience in direct support or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of resident rights and patient observation techniques.
- Familiarity with meal preparation for individuals with specific dietary needs.
- Experience in senior care or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and respond effectively to client needs.
Requirements
