Pathways to Life, Inc. | Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

This isn’t just another behavioral health role.

If you’re looking for a job where you check boxes and go home—this isn’t it.

But if you’re passionate about helping individuals navigate substance use and mental health challenges at the same time, and you want to be part of a real, boots-on-the-ground ACTT team—you’ll want to keep reading.

At Pathways, you’re not working in isolation.
You’re part of a 24/7, high-impact team supporting individuals in real-life environments—not just an office.

What You’ll Be Doing (Real Work. Real Impact.)

  • Provide substance use counseling, education, and skill-building in community and clinical settings

  • Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and track stages of change

  • Use Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and relapse prevention strategies to support recovery

  • Help develop and implement Person-Centered Plans, crisis plans, and safety plans

  • Act as a key voice on the ACTT team, educating others on substance use and dual diagnosis (IDDT)

  • Respond to crisis situations (yes, this is part of ACTT life)

  • Connect members to community resources, including 12-step and recovery supports

  • Maintain timely, audit-ready documentation aligned with Medicaid, DHHS, and CARF standards

Why This Role Hits Different

  • You’re working with individuals who need real support—not surface-level care

  • You’re part of a team that shows up—24/7/365

  • You’re trusted to use your clinical skills, not just follow a script

  • You’ll see progress, setbacks, and breakthroughs—and be part of all of it

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Qualified Professional (QP) status (NC requirements)

  • Certification as LCAS.

  • Experience (or strong interest) in co-occurring disorders (mental health substance use)

  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure situations

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills (this matters here)

The Reality (We Keep It Honest)

This role includes:

  • Community-based work (not just sitting at a desk)

  • Crisis response responsibilities

  • Working with high-acuity populations

  • Holding strong boundaries while building real relationships

But if you’re built for this—you already know how rewarding it is.

Schedule & Structure

  • Monday–Friday (typical hours), with flexibility based on client needs

  • Participation in on-call/crisis response rotation as part of the ACTT model

Why Pathways

  • You’re part of a mission-driven organization

  • You’ll grow clinically and professionally

  • You’ll work with leaders who understand the field—not just manage it

  • You’ll make a real difference every single day
