Duties
- Prompt residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote health and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incident reports, and progress notes aligned with facility policies and resident rights.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration accurately.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and team members while respecting resident’s rights.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities enhances your candidacy.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks such as assisting with transfers or mobility support consistently.
