What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher position at Pathways Early Education Center of Immokalee?
The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. Lead Teachers plan and implement learning experiences that support the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development of each child while upholding all program, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Classroom Environment and Safety
- Always supervise children and ensure health, safety, and hygiene practices are followed
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment including bulletin boards and child-created displays at child eye level
- Ensure materials are rotated, accessible, and developmentally appropriate
Curriculum and Instruction
- Plan, submit, and implement weekly lesson plans aligned to the program curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices
- Ensure activities include a balance of teacher-guided and child-led experiences
- Integrate hands-on learning across all developmental domains
Assessment and Documentation
- Complete required program assessments by the assigned deadlines
- Develop weekly individual child goals based on assessment data
- Conduct daily observations and document learning in Teaching Strategies Gold
Family Engagement
- Communicate with families daily, weekly, and as needed through approved communication methods
- Facilitate two parent conferences per school year for each child
- Build positive, trusting relationships with families
Professional Responsibilities
- Serve as a model of professionalism and Pathways policy adherence for support teachers
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all coworkers
· Maintain confidentiality and uphold program values
- Complete required in-service training and certification renewals
- Participate in mandatory staff meetings
- Ensure all licensing, DCF, and national accreditation standards are met within the classroom
- Participate in annual accreditation observations and surveys
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 45 DCF Training Hours
- CDA or equivalent credential
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education
Salary : $17 - $25
