Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards
- Support medication administration and ensure care plans are followed precisely to meet each individual’s unique needs
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation
- Maintain a safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and adherence to safety protocols; assist with heavy lifting and resident transfers as required
- Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare regulations and assist with patient monitoring during shifts
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for long shifts is essential
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; experience in social work or nursing is beneficial
- Valid background check clearance; commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
