What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager position at PATHWAY SOCIETY INC?
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor the recovery residence, ensuring client safety and compliance with house guidelines
- Conduct client intake and orientation
- Manage client conflict and calmly handle emergency situations
- Procure food and household supplies
- Complete verbal and written warnings and follow up actions relative to client behavioral issues
- Maintain required documentation and ensure files and reports are delivered in a timely manner
- Assist clients with weekly double scrub activities
- Properly and securely store and account for client medications; make medications available at appointed times
- Attend monthly house manager meeting
- Be present and available to clients in the home
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Experience with and a passion for supporting clients, in a home setting, who are recovering from substance abuse
- Possess strong personal and professional boundaries
- Must maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and behavior as described in the Pathway employee handbook.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to assume responsibility and leadership of the home with minimal supervision
- Obtain CPR/First Aid certification and annual TB test once clearance from the County is received.
- Complete annual required trainings
- Must pass comprehensive background check and reference check; may require a valid driver license, current auto liability insurance and a clean driving record preferred.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; climb stairs; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and type and occasionally lift supplies, up to 20 pounds.
