Phlebotomist (Outpatient)
Shift available:
- Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (TriState Health Lab)
Position Type: Accepting applications for one full-time opening. We are looking to add a motivated, and patient service focused team member. Phlebotomy experience a plus.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Collect blood from donor, check quality of blood, and assume responsibility for safety and comfort of donor, following established standards and practices.

WORK PERFORMED:
- Follow and demonstrate PRL’s core values, which includes mutual respect and teamwork, a collegial work environment, and commitment to staff and patient safety.
- Understand and adhere to all safety and HIPAA related standards to ensure high quality patient care.
- Ensure accurate data entry into the laboratory information system.
- Label and store specimens as required.
- Prepare specimens for transport.
- Help process specimens when needed.
- Provide superior customer service to all patients and clients.
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques while following established procedures.
- Establish and maintain positive patient identification before, during, and after collection.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and QC of equipment.
- Assist in the orientation and training of volunteers, students, and new employees as requested.
- Attends meetings such as in-service meetings, department meetings, etc.
- Maintains clean and stocked work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND:
- Typing, data entry and computer skills preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (ASCP).
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
