JOB SUMMARY:
Medical Transcriptionist Lead under the direction of the Medical Transcription Supervisor transcribes pathology reports from digital dictation as well as provide support for department operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists the Medical Transcription Supervisor in the overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department.
- Help to establish and execute long and short-term department goals.
- Monitor and maintain established TAT.
- Monitor and ensure departmental scheduling and coverage of personnel to include inside and outside locations.
- Transcribe gross, microscopic, diagnostic, surgical pathology, autopsy, and cytology reports; type general correspondence for Pathologists.
- Ensure that all employees are properly oriented and trained.
- Communicate pertinent information/issues to supervisor, manager or other appropriate individual.
- Serves as project leader in the development and implementation of training, QA programs and department protocols.
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
- Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years prior experience as a Medical Transcriptionist required.
