As a Staff Accountant at Pathfinder, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. Working closely with the Controller and CFO, this position supports month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting that allow our mission-driven programs to thrive. As a Staff Accountant at Pathfinder, You Will:
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including month-end and adjusting entries.
- Complete bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and record associated entries.
- Review, monitor, and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Audit, Compliance & Accuracy
- Assist with year-end financial audits and internal/external audit requests.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and report concerns to the Controller or CFO.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and best practices.
Collaboration & Team Support
- Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Medicaid Billing, and daily banking tasks as needed.
- Partner with accounting team members to meet deadlines and department goals.
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, documentation, and efficiencies.

Requirements
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider associate degree with relevant experience.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in accounting preferred.
- Experience with accounting on computer systems.
- Ability to develop and deliver accurate data for review or presentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
