We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. Job Overview: As an Experienced Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet, which includes pickup trucks, medium-duty trucks, heavy equipment, and trailers. You will also oversee our preventative maintenance program and ensure the shop runs efficiently. This position offers variety, with a balance of indoor and outdoor work on heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily repair and maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Manage and implement a preventative maintenance program for our fleet.
- Oversee parts and shop supply inventory, ensuring that all necessary items are in stock.
- Specify and purchase tools, parts, and equipment needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and other mechanics to schedule and prioritize work.
- Conduct diagnostics on gas and diesel engines, as well as electrical systems, trailer wiring, and pumps. (You must understand basic trailer wiring).
- Work 50% indoors and 50% outdoors, ensuring that equipment is always in optimal condition.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic (required).
- Strong knowledge of pickup trucks, medium-duty trucks, heavy equipment, trailer wiring, electrical systems, and diagnostic programs for gas and diesel engines.
- Experience with pumps, small engines, welding, and trailer repairs is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
