Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for an IT Technical Project Manager with a focus on PLM Enterprise Software. It is primarily remote, with about 25% travel to customer sites. The role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, providing guidance to technical teams, ensuring the timely resolution of issues, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The IT Technical Project Manager will collaborate closely with diverse teams to ensure smooth project implementation and success.
Responsibilities
- Technical IT Project Management lead to drive customer programs
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the customer, providing project leadership and organizational support in a professional and cooperative manner
- Apply various project management frameworks, with a primary focus on Agile methodologies, to ensure efficient project execution and delivery
- Gather and document comprehensive project requirements, ensuring their traceability throughout development cycles and demonstrability to the customer
- Create, maintain, and manage Project Management Plans, as required by the customer, which include but are not limited to customer stakeholder registries, communication matrices, project schedules, issue lists, and risk registers
- Manage the implementation of diverse IT projects, including infrastructure, hardware, and software initiatives
- Oversee system and application development, prototypes, concepts, and redesigns of PLM-related products and associated subsystems and modules
- Plan testing and evaluation to determine proof of concept capability in customer environments, scale systems to improve existing capabilities, and ensure development and deliverables meet their intent
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices and familiarity with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework
- Perform essential back-office project management tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, employee timekeeping, and accounting
- Coordinate and oversee data migration activities for legacy data and systems
- Facilitate the development and delivery of comprehensive training materials, including training plans, instructor-led training, eLearning courses, quick reference guides, frequently asked questions, and knowledge articles
- Meet agreed deliverable timelines
- Travel as needed to support customer efforts and project requirements
- Log your time in the customer’s time management system and share it back to the company management for accounting and billing
Qualifications
- Must be located in the United States
- Must be willing and able to accommodate some travel to customer sites and work remotely
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to IT Technical Project Management, with at least 8 years of proven experience in prior roles, or at least 12 years of proven experience in prior roles
- Up-to-date PMI PMP and Agile Certified Practitioner certifications
- Proven customer-facing skills
- Prior experience with all aspects of Project Management Plans, creating and properly progressing project schedules using Microsoft Project software, and managing back-office project management tasks, such as budgeting, forecasting, employee/team member timekeeping, and accounting
- Demonstrable experience in managing Product and Development teams in implementing successful Siemens Applications and Integrations-Teamcenter, Opcenter Manufacturing Operations Management, NX, SimCenter, and ERP integrations - application hands-on experience and an understanding of closed-loop manufacturing are desired
- Demonstratable familiarity with Siemens Polarion or Atlassian Jira for gathering and managing customer requirements, performing gap analysis and refinement, distillation into a minimum viable product, prioritization of work and delivery, creation of Epics, Features, Stories, and Tasks within an Agile Project Framework, and establishing traceability and mapping of all this so that it can be demonstrable to customer stakeholders
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework
