- Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate
- Must be knowledgeable of NJSLS and mandated state testing
- Excellent experience teaching and working with students in various grade levels
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis and research related to learning and children needing to learn a second language
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, use proper grammar and vocabulary with students, staff, administration, and the community
- Secondary education teaching experience
- Successful implementation of instructional strategies
- Must be computer literate
- Highly motivated result-driven educator
- Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
