What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Supervisor position at Paterson Public School District?
Qualifications:
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Have five (5) years of experience as a security officer, with evidence of successful knowledge of working with students.
- Have specialized training in security procedures and techniques.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations.
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate moral character and initiative.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Respond to the schools under their command on a regular basis, at least once per week, to inspect the guards. (Including Contract Guards)
- Complete monthly written observations of all the Boards guards under their command. Four visits per school per month.
- Shall periodically attend emergency drills for efficiency.
- Shall review all reports prepared by guards under their command prior to eing submitted.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned directly and/or indirectly related to security.
- Be sure to sign the visitor log upon arrival and departure.
- Keep a supervisor’s log of all visitations.
- Provide security officers with all pertinent reports ie, Day Off, Vacation Request etc.
