The Director of Investments is responsible for the development, execution and monitoring of investment services strategies that enable growth, member service and team engagement goals of the program. This person is accountable for the operations management along with member and team education related to investment services. This role will work closely with the Leadership team to build new and existing member relationships. The Director will coordinate the broker dealer relationship and remain abreast of competitor, industry and regular trends to ensure ongoing performance of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Lead investment and insurance department goals and implementation efforts
- Provide Financial Advisors with goals and assist them in development of business plans to achieve goals
- Manage Financial Advisors day to day activities to achieve goals
- Work cooperatively with Patelco management team to successfully integrate Program into Credit Union delivery channels.
- Recruit and hire all full-service Financial Advisors to provide optimum service coverage of Patelco branches
- Complete and submit updates to Executive Management as requested
- Coordinate training for Financial Advisors and Assistants with broker dealer
- Assist with the development of and manage annual and monthly budget
- Manage product relationships, review product offering to ensure optimum service and profitability and make recommendations for new investments products/services
- Implement Program marketing plans in conjunction with credit union and financial advisor investment strategic plans
- Review and monitor production reports and communicate with credit union branch Regional Directors and Branch Managers on a consistent basis
- Develop, implement, and manage platform programs as needed
- Create, develop, and implement new investments and insurance product sales opportunities
- Work in partnership with credit union corporate marketing team to develop and implement investments and insurance marketing calendar
- Coordinate/lead in partnership with Credit Union individual investment marketing initiatives
- Provide support to the broker dealer team as required
- Communicate with broker dealer compliance team and support/communicate compliance requirements to ensure financial advisors’ adherence
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Have an excellent understanding of compliance policies and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
- Proven ability and leadership to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow with versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- 7 years related investment industry experience
- 5 years of managerial experience
- Series 7, 24, 63, 65 (or 66) and Life Insurance licenses are required
- Previous management and sales coaching experience
- Strong communication skills and public speaking experience
- Must have a clean U-4
- Must have proficient computer skills
- Certified Financial Planner certification preferred
- This role is eligible for hybrid work arrangement
- This role is based in our Dublin HQ
- Occasional travel required throughout our retail channel
Physical Activities/Requirements
- Position requires travel to different branch locations. Must have a valid CA Class C license.
$132,197 - $165,255 / yr
This role offers a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary combined with a variable compensation plan based on production and gross revenue generated by the assigned territory, with on-target earnings.
