Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations.
- Perform insurance verification and collect payments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle phone inquiries using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10).
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to patient visits.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care plans are executed.
- Maintain the organization of medical records and filing systems.
- Support administrative functions such as typing reports, managing correspondence, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications effectively.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, insurance verification processes, and medical coding practices (CPT/ICD).
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key typing ability.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff alike.
