Pate Construction Co. is a family owned and operated Underground Utilities Construction Company, with a more than 50-year history of quality-minded, experienced leadership and a highly skilled, long-term labor force. We have built our business with a solid commitment to providing a safe working environment and well-maintained equipment. We currently have an opening for a Dump Truck/Tandem Driver.
Position Summary:
This position requires a Class-A CDL manual driver to haul materials and construction equipment from our facilities to various jobsites around the Southern Colorado area with a tandem end dump truck and equipment trailer. Driver will be responsible for safe and efficient loading, securement and unloading of materials. The ideal candidate will safety orientated and have a professional demeanor.
To help us achieve that mission, we are looking for an experienced “Class-A Manual Tandem End Dump Drivers”.
PRIMARY DUTY:
- Ensures materials or equipment being transported is correctly loaded, secured and unloaded
- Daily or before use, safety inspection of vehicle to verify equipment is safe to operate
- Communicate any concerns or improperly operating equipment to Equipment Manager or Superintendent
- Be aware of and follow all state and federal rules and company policies for safe driving
- Work with job site Foreman to unload equipment / materials
- Be able to recognize and safely respond to changing weather conditions
- Assist other equipment operators as needed to ensure a quality product
SECONDARY DUTY: Other duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager or Superintendent
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years as a End Dump/Tandem Truck Driver in loading, transporting and unloading construction materials.
In compliance with the FMCSA, Pate Construction will do previous employer checks to verify safety record.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess and maintain a valid State issued Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), HAZMAT endorsement preferred
Must provide an official DMV report.
Must be able to receive and maintain a favorable Local Background Check (LBC), National Agency Check (NAC) and negative drug screen as applicable to the position requirements, current and future.
