What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistants position at Patchogue-Medford School District?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instruction to individual and small groups of students.
- Assist students in the use of instructional materials and aids.
- Assist students with activities of personal care/hygiene/toileting as applicable.
- Utilize personal skills to assist in the instructional program as directed by the teacher.
- Provide the teacher with information about the students that will assist in the development of appropriate learning activities.
- Implementation of behavior modification and other data collection.
- Participate in professional development activities as directed by administration.
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must hold a valid NYS Level I, II, or III Teaching Assistant Certification or NYS Teacher Certification
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Evidence of successful experience working with children with disabilities
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
