What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Teacher position at Patchogue-Medford School District?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan lessons, keep records of grades, grade papers, correspond with parents, etc.
- Utilize various Spanish curriculum resources
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served in our Dual Language classrooms
- Assess students' academic and language development progress through formal and informal evaluations.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement and well-being.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching methods, language acquisition research, and educational technology.
- Incorporate cultural materials and perspectives into the curriculum to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Job Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess or be eligible for New York State Elementary Certification
