Position: Butcher / Meat Cutter
Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors is seeking an experienced and dependable Overnight Butcher / Meat Cutter to join our production team. This position is responsible for cutting, trimming, portioning, and preparing high-quality meat products while maintaining our standards for quality, consistency, food safety, and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, portion, and prepare beef, pork, lamb, and other meat products according to specifications.
- Safely operate knives, saws, grinders, and other meat-processing equipment.
- Follow portion sizes, customer specifications, and production requirements.
- Inspect meat for quality and maintain proper handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Properly label, organize, and store products.
- Work efficiently as part of the overnight production team to complete daily orders.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and production management.
Qualifications
- Previous butcher, meat cutting, meat processing, or related experience preferred.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat cuts.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to lift and move meat products and production materials as required.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated/cold environments.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Must be available to work the full 6:00 PM–6:00 AM overnight shift, Sunday through Friday.
