Summary

The right candidate will be responsible for providing personalized banking services to our most valued asset, our customers!  You will be building, maintaining, and deepening relationships with customers by providing exceptional customer service and recommending appropriate products and services.  The primary focus of this position is coaching and motivating staff to meet branch growth goals.  In addition, this position is responsible for managing the cash levels of the office, scheduling the Service Representative staff, and ensuring new staff is adequately trained. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and motivate staff to effectively sell and refer bank products and services.

  • Accept and accurately process a variety of financial transactions for customers 

  • Listen to the customer's financial needs and cross-sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments as appropriate, to support the customer's financial growth.

  • Prepares and compiles new customer application and information to open new accounts.

  • Helps grow the Bank’s deposit base by working to consolidate customers’ account with PSB, accepting loan applications and by referring to other personnel as appropriate.

  • Assists in sales efforts of Universal Bankers by answering product and service questions. Be a resource for other employees in the Bank who are cross selling deposit services

  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position, and keep up to date on regulation changes.

  • Manage cash level of the office to a designated level.

  • Schedule staff to maximize convenient and efficient customer service.

  • Oversee training of new and existing service representatives to ensure compliance with Passumpsic Savings Bank policy, and with all Federal and State regulations.

Qualifications


  • High School diploma or equivalent and five years of experience in job related activities or two years of related college or technical training and three years of experience in job related activities

  • Strong  communications skills

  • Strong human relations skills to include; patience, understanding, empathy and listening.

  • Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma of general education degree (GED); and five plus years of progressive experience in job related procedures; or two years of related college or technical training and three years of experience in job related activities.  Thorough understanding of Bank products and services.  Applicable CFT courses preferred.

INTERPERSONAL/BEHAVORIAL/COMMUNICATION:

Must possess very good human relations skills to include; patience, understanding, empathy and listening.  Conduct must be calm, cooperative, and respective manner to perform the required job duties with customers and coworkers.  Behavior should not include the use of profanity, negative comments or suggestions, not be harassing or threatening.

Must be able to speak clearly to be easily understood.  Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos with proper grammar.  Ability to effectively present information to an individual or a small group of customers. Must be able to get along with other employees, to follow directions, work under stress, and to report to work on time regularly. 

MATHEMATICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.  Must be able to operate a calculator and personal computer to accurately process customer transactions.  Must be able to operate all other office and communication equipment to perform the job duties accurately and efficiently.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
