Duties
- Operate cash registers and handle all retail sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at the end of your shift
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, offering product demos, and upselling items to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain store appearance through stocking shelves, merchandising products, and ensuring displays are attractive and organized
- Conduct product knowledge demonstrations to inform customers about new or featured items
- Manage phone etiquette by answering inquiries professionally and directing calls appropriately
- Supervise store operations in the absence of daytime management, including overseeing closing procedures and ensuring store security protocols are followed
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory checks to ensure product availability
Skills
- Proven experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems and retail sales transactions
- Supervising experience in a retail environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Knowledge of cashiering procedures, basic math, retail math, and cash register operations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks and stock shelves efficiently
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic understanding of retail store product knowledge to assist customers confidently
- Attention to detail in handling cash handling duties, cash drawer management, and retail store safety protocols
