Job Description

Passionate Thoughts Behavioral Counseling and Evaluation Services, LLC provides Applied Behavioral Analysis Services/Intensive Behavioral Health Services, which includes the following types of behavioral programming: preference assessment identification and implementation, discrete trial training, operant contingency training, errorless learning, social skills training, expressive and receptive language development (from a behavioral perspective), social acquisition and maintenance, implementation of reinforcement strategies (antecedent and consequences-based alterations), incidental teaching, discriminative stimulus training, and shaping of appropriate and adaptive behavior. Behavioral analytic services are utilized to assist with increasing adaptative/functional behavior necessary for improved long-term behavioral outcomes in children with mental health/behavioral disorders.

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and Functional Analyses and develops function based interventions
  • Analyze data and make data based decisions about progress and programming
  • Works cooperatively with stakeholders and participates in informational meetings as required
  • Participate and evaluate needs for referrals
  • Provide ongoing training for the direct support professionals including universal behavioral strategies across settings, behavior reduction strategies, and reinforcement systems
  • Writes assessment and IP reports as needed
  • Attend committee meetings as required by stakeholders
  • Teach, facilitate, and monitor communication systems for multiple individuals

. Requirements:

Licensed Behavioral Specialist

Individuals who provide ABA services through behavior consultation—ABA services shall meet one of the following:

(1) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services and have one of the following:

(i) A certification as a BCaBA or other undergraduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.

(ii) A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the equivalent from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.

(iii) A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services under the supervision of a professional with a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

(2) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist and have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

  • BCBA Requirements
  • Demonstrated behavior analytic skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train others in behavior analytic skills. Prior training, presenting and facilitation experience which includes presenting to large groups preferred.
  • Two or more years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and/or other related developmental disabilities
  • Knowledgeable of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies and curriculum found to benefit children diagnosed with ASD, including but not limited to Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), prompting and prompt fading strategies, error correction procedures, differential reinforcement, and Pivotal Response Training (PRT).
  • Knowledgeable about training techniques, delivering trainings, and training development
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledgeable of computer systems and software used
  • Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multi-tasking
  • Personable and able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Committed to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters

Preferred Education & Experience

  • College coursework in the field of behavior analysis, psychology, education, early childhood, or related field is preferred
  • Ability to work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multi-tasking
  • Personable and able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $80.00 per hour
