Shift Lead (Manager on Duty)

TITLE: SHIFT LEAD (Manager on Duty)

LOCATION: EHT Passion Vines

SUMMARY

As Shift Lead/Manager on Duty (MOD) you will serve as a Leader and Manager for the Team. In addition to performing the basic store functions (register, stocking, etc.) you will be the go-to person on-shift for any questions or concerns that may arise from both the Team and Customers. You will serve as an effective liaison between the Team and Store Manager as well as other MOD’s and effectively communicate needs, updates, issues, etc. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will delegate tasks, hold Team Members accountable, and ensure that the proper opening or closing procedures are completed. To be successful in this role, you will have strong leadership presence and experience, be trustworthy and responsible, and have a background in retail (ideally within the Wine/Beer/Spirits industry).

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform basic store functions (register/cashiering, stocking, merchandizing, etc.)

· Provide exceptional Customer Service; offer a warm greeting, answer questions, provide recommendations, etc.

TEAM LEADERSHIP

· Serve as a Role Model to encourage and influence how the Team “shows up”

· Give permission for Team Member breaks

· Ensure full completion of checklists (delegate tasks to Team Members as needed)

· Assist with Huddle/Pre-Shift in order to communicate all important announcements, updates, etc.

STORE OPERATIONS

· Be responsible for the safe keeping of your key and opening or locking-up of the store

· Assist with the delegation of register assignments (then ensure that no “register hoping” is occurring)

COMMUNICATION

· Listen to and act on (or communicate to the Store Manager) Team Member comments, complaints, and suggestions

· Assist the Store Manager, as needed with tasks such as Special Requests, large party orders, local van deliveries, transfers, incoming deliveries, shipping, etc. (keep them all organized and communicate them to the Manager/other MODs)

· Professionally and effectively handle customer comments, complaints, and incidents

TRAINING

· Lead by example in order to protect and promote PV policy and procedure

· Provide ongoing training and mentorship

REQUIREMENTS

· 2 years of retail experience

· 2 years of management/leadership experience

· 2 years of industry experience

· Experience as a key-holder

· Clear and concise communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.92 - $18.00 per hour
