Monday: OFF
Tuesday: 4pm - 9pm
Wednesday: 4pm - 9pm
Thursday: 4pm-9pm
Friday: OFF
Saturday: 6:30am - 1:30pm OR 3pm-9pm
Sunday: 6:30am - 1:30pm OR 2:45pm - 9pm
**Hired applicant who successfully makes it six months will earn a $250 bonus! If you make it to a full year you'll earn another $500!**
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for pets during evening and weekend boarding periods, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times
- Handle pet feeding, medication administration, exercise routines, and enrichment activities tailored to each animal’s needs
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, bedding areas, and common spaces through regular sanitization and grooming practices
- Monitor animals’ behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort; implement appropriate restraint or handling techniques as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets’ status and addressing any questions or concerns
- Assist with outdoor activities such as dog walking or training exercises to promote physical activity and mental stimulation
- Follow all safety protocols related to animal restraint, heavy lifting, team lifting, and outdoor work to ensure a secure environment for pets and staff
Skills
- Proven experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, pet sitting or pet boarding facilities
- Strong animal handling skills including dog training, pet grooming, and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of pet behavior cues and effective methods for managing various animal temperaments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or animals; comfortable with outdoor work in different weather conditions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward pet owners and team members
- Experience with cleaning procedures specific to pet care facilities to ensure sanitization and hygiene standards are met
- Familiarity with veterinary assistant tasks or veterinary technician experience is a plus for understanding medical needs of animals
