The Passamaquoddy Health Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technician assist the Chief Pharmacist in providing traditional and clinical pharmacy services and to establish and maintain the pharmacy services as an integral part of the health and delivery system. This is a permanent, full-time position offering full benefits.

Qualifications:

1. High School or GED required.

2. Must be able to register with the State of Maine Pharmacy Broad as a Pharmacy Technician.

3. Able to become Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician within 2 years of employment.

4. Able to become familiar with State guidelines regarding technician responsibilities.

5. Must be willing to learn the pharmacy computer system and become independent with using EHR & RPMS.

6. Prioritize tasks and follow them through to completion in a timely manner, with minimal supervision.

7. Must possess good communication skills. Ability to interact with patients and co-workers in a courteous and productive manner.

8. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

9. Willingness to pursue additional education and/or training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Pharmacist in prescription filling process.
  • Will take prescription refill requests from patients.
  • Responsible for counting and labeling non controlled prescriptions.
  • Will hand prescriptions to patients or designee.
  • Will comply with Indian Health Service, State and Federal guidelines pertaining to pharmacy.
  • Answer all incoming call and take messages.
  • Fill out PCC for patient receiving prescriptions.
  • Assist pharmacist and billing department in pharmacy billing.
  • Assist Patient Services Coordination with pharmacy refills.
  • Assist Medical Providers in pharmacy referrals when Pharmacist is not in.
  • Order medications.
  • Keep pharmacy shelves stocked, cleaned and organized.
  • Maintain the outdating of the inventory.
  • Maintains prescription records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
