Description
Responsible to maintain the cleanliness of PVSC buildings by performing a variety of routine cleaning and custodial maintenance duties in addition to performing a variety of manual and unskilled labor in connection with light equipment operations, landscaping and snow removal.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School or Vocational School Diploma is required.
License: Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in basic janitorial services or general landscaping preferred.
Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position and carry out verbal and written instructions. Must have knowledge of the standard methods, tools and equipment used when performing janitorial duties, along with knowledge of the safety precautions that are required when operating equipment. Must be able to learn the key elements of housekeeping that are critical in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Must be available for emergencies and job assignments on a 24-hour basis. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus).
Physical Demands: Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. To perform the essential functions of this position the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., carry, reach, push, pull, use a keyboard, use tools, have manual dexterity, and work in confined spaces.
Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors.

The expected base pay range for this position is $41,315 to $64,851. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
