Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and guidance to individuals in recovery.
- Assist participants in setting and achieving personalized recovery goals.
- Help participants access community resources and advocate on their behalf.
- Assist in navigating legal issues including but not limited to criminal, civil, and Family court obligations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant interactions.
- Provide immediate support during crises and develop strategies for managing high-risk situations.
- Facilitate support groups and serve as a positive role model.
- Engage in community outreach and promote the CRSS program.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of personal experience in recovery from substance use disorders or mental health issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic and non-judgmental attitude.
- Basic computer skills and experience with data entry preferred.
- Current certification as a PA Certified Recovery Support Specialist or eligible for testing within one year of hire
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured personal transportation.
- Ability to obtain ACT 33 & 34 clearances and additional clearances as required.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Work conducted in various settings, including offices, community centers, and participants' homes.
- Travel within the community is required.
