Duties
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring safe and effective use aligned with current clinical guidelines.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication administration, and treatment progress.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings and populations.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid licensure in the state of West Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience working with children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles including medication administration and monitoring for side effects.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation tools (ICD-10 coding), and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
