Restorative Facilitator/In-School Suspension Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
An employee in this position will be responsible for working with students on academic and behavioral work. The job goal will be to plan, organize, and instruct restorative practices/ISS within an educational environment. The employee will work with students in all areas of their core courses and help them to cope with behavioral issues in a productive and useful manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
60 Semester/90 Quarter Hours of College Credits
(Prefer that college credits be in education or related area)

- Must possess an upbeat and positive approach to the job and be viewed as a solution-finder, not a negative thinker
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in planning and facilitating restorative conversations with students, parents, and staff
- Provide communication to staff regarding issues of student discord and ISS.
- Institute re-entry procedures for students returning from suspension, alternative school, or extended absences
- Establish and adapt restorative circle procedures
- Create and monitor student support plans
- Practice real-time de-escalation coaching for students and staff and in ISS
- Facilitate ISS program for school
- Contact teachers of students scheduled for ISS each day for assignments
- Supervise students during in-school suspension (ISS) throughout the school day
SALARY INFORMATION
Paygrade 54
$15.23 - $20.60
Full-Time, Permanent
(Based on 0-30 years of experience in a school system)
