We are in search of a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor to add to our established team. We are looking for someone who wants to build a community in our club.
Lifeguard Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
Lifeguard Qualifications / Skills:
- Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions at aquatics facilities to determine any potential dangers or hazards
- Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions
- Actively guards and scan the pool area at all times; refrains from socializing while guarding.
- Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety
- Knowledge of on-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
- Dress and appearance are consistent with PRSC standards including wearing your swimsuit, guard shirt, whistle and tube while on duty.
- Document any incidents and/or injuries.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
- Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
