Job Summary

Paraeducator II/III (6hrs) at various sites - Hiring Pool Under the direction of the Special Education Director and site administrator, the Paraeducator II works to support instructional activities of special needs students. A majority of the assignment will be spent working directly with students in a capacity that meets learning and physical needs of students as determined by their respective Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Provide interventions and respond to inappropriate behaviors: assess crisis situations, intervenes and defuses as appropriate.

Requirements / Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required) * 48 (or more) college semester units OR certification of passing the District Paraeducator Exam OR possesses a Certificate of Proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act. (required) * Experience working with children with Special Education needs (preferred) ***PLEASE NOTE: The District offers this exam EVERY Thursday at 1 at the PRJUSD District Office; 800 Niblick Rd, Paso Robles.
