What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant position at Paseo Village?
Paseo Village Assisted Living is looking for a Full-time Maintenance assistant to join our team. Position is Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, on- call two weekends a month and may need to come in after hours emergencies. Experience preferred but will train the right person.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives direction from the Director of Maintenance and assists with daily maintenance and repair needs of the facility.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and repairs to maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Performs basic plumbing repairs, including repairing leaks, replacing faucets and plumbing fixtures, changing toilets and wax rings, and addressing minor plumbing issues.
- Performs basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs, within the scope of training and applicable requirements.
- Performs basic drywall, painting, carpentry, and general building repairs, including patching holes, repairing trim, doors, and hardware.
- Installs and replaces basic fixtures and equipment, including blinds/valances, shelving, signage, and other facility items.
- Maintains resident and facility furniture and equipment.
- Completes preventive maintenance, work orders, documentation, and maintenance records as assigned.
- Responds to routine and emergency maintenance requests and reports issues requiring specialized repair or outside contractors to the Director of Maintenance.
- Safely operates hand and power tools and follows all facility safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
- Participates in fire and disaster drills and assists with emergency response as assigned.
- Maintains a professional and respectful relationship with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Completes required training and other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call duties as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
