Role Description The Centered Spirit Behavioral Health Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Tucson, AZ, responsible for overseeing behavioral health services and programs for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The Director leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral health initiatives, ensuring that services are culturally responsive, evidence-based, and aligned with tribal and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising clinical and program staff, providing guidance on complex cases, and coordinating case management activities to support individuals and families. The role includes developing and monitoring program budgets, policies, and procedures, as well as collecting and analyzing data to improve service quality and outcomes. The Director also collaborates with internal departments, community partners, and external agencies to expand resources, promote mental wellness, and advocate for client needs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health and Behavioral Health, including assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong foundation in Psychology, with the ability to integrate clinical knowledge into program design and staff supervision.
- Experience in Case Management, including coordination of care, referral processes, and follow-up to support client continuity of services.
- Proven track record in Program Development, including designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral health programs.
- Graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field; licensure or eligibility for licensure preferred.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a behavioral health or community health setting.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn about Indigenous communities, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
PhD, PsyD, DBH in Behavioral Health Field, five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in a behavioral health outpatient, and/or residential treatment program setting. AND
Licensed as a Behavioral Health Professional in the State of Arizona or any out-of-state; Experience managing a Behavioral Health Clinic; Successful work history with Indian populations and or other ethnic groups preferred; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License
