Duties
- Take accurate orders using Toast POS, ensuring all special requests and dietary needs are clearly communicated.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales by recommending popular dishes, drinks, or specials.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest questions confidently.
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed during busy periods.
- Foster positive guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
- Uphold sanitation standards through proper food handling practices and adherence to health regulations in both food service and restaurant environments.
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on food service or hospitality is required.
- Experience working with POS systems
- Fine dining or upscale restaurant experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within the food industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and billing procedures.
- Experience with reservation platforms like Resy is beneficial but can be learned on the job.
