JOIN OUR TEAM AS A VOLUNTEER CONSTRUCTION BOARD MEMBER!
Pasco County is seeking qualified volunteers to serve on the Pasco County Construction Board. This board is established to help maintain public confidence in the integrity and competence of the construction industry within Pasco County. The Board acts in a quasi-judicial capacity and services as an appellate and disciplinary body for matters involving local licensing, contractor performance, permitting issues, inspection disputes and violations of technical codes.

A Licensed General Contractor, A Licensed Residential Contractor, A Licensed Aluminum Contractor, A Licensed Roofing Contractor, A Licensed Air Conditioning/Mechanical Contractor, A licensed Electrical Contractor, A Licensed Plumbing Contractor, and three (3) Consumer Representatives who are not associated within the construction industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hear appeals from contractor licensing denials.
- Review and adjudicate complaints against locally licensed and state-registered contractors, and impose discipline when warranted.
- Hear appeals regarding the suspension of permitting privileges.
- Hear appeals involving failure to correct material code violations under §553.781, F.S.
- Hear appeals concerning permit requirements.
- Act in a quasi-judicial capacity regarding unpermitted construction findings.
- Serve as the countywide compliance review board for local technical amendments to the Florida Building Code (§553.73(4)m F.S.).
- Must hold a state or local contractors license in any of the trades above,
- Must be actively engaged in the construction trade.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) consecutive years of experience.
- Must be a Pasco County resident, or regularly conduct business in Pasco County.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a Pasco County resident, or local business participant.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must not currently or previously have been involved in a profession regulated by the Board.
Meetings: At least quarterly. Often meetings are every other month.
The minimum age for applicants is 18 years of age.
