Customer Service Planner

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Planner

Department: Customer Service

Summary: Works with Customer Service Representatives to ensure profitability on all loads. Plans and coordinates shipments and trucks with various departments involved and is responsible for on time pickup and delivery of shipments.

Major Duties:

Scrutinizes drivers' places of residence in order to facilitate proper home time for the drivers

Works to ensure customers are taken care of

Works with Fleet Managers to ensure maximum driver productivity, satisfaction, and adequate home time

Manages trailer pools, drop trailers, & overall trailer activity

Provides detailed and accurate messages to the Fleet Managers

Directs some local city operation in their region

Forecasts available trucks in each operational area and provides priority accurate information for solicitation efforts.

Identifies loads under distress and communicates possible service failures or planning revisions.

Assists Maintenance & Safety with service needs & special requests

Reviews, analyzes, and uses available reports including Inactive Trailers and available loads.

Plans sequence of operations for guidance of all involved

Interprets and leads decision-making process with customers.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Specifications:

Experience: Two years related transportation experience

Education: High school diploma required, degree preferred

Special Skills: Intense, time-sensitive Computer Operation
Prefer bilingual (Spanish/English) capability
